Family Portrait

Here is a step by step of a drawing I did of our family photo. The first is the original photo and the rest are the different stages of the drawing.

I finished another drawing! I took pics as I did it to show it step by step. It is a picture my mom took of me at a concert I played in. Here is the first pic...

 This is the final drawing...
And, lastly, here is the actual photograph I looked at to draw this...

I finished some drawings over the past few weeks. The first one is of a place we camped at on vacation. It was my first time experiencing with drawing scenes from nature so it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. The lake in the background is Lake Esther up by Grand Marais.
This second one is of Legolas. I had started this a while before and then decided to finish it....and no, I am not obsessed with him...I don't know why I drew another pic of him. :)
If anyone has any suggestions on who or what to draw next, feel free to comment with them. If you have a specific picture of someone you can email it to me at brennalee121@gmail.com.

Finished!

Well, here is the finished drawing. I guess it turned out ok! :)

State fair and others

This first drawing is of the first one I entered into the Minnesota State Fair. It got honorable mention and is the only one I have gotten an award on. I think I did it in 7th grade. It is of a woolly mammoth.
This next one is of another drawing I submitted into the fair in 9th grade. It didn't receive a reward.
These next ones are just some tastes of what I used to get into. :) I don't do any colored pencil drawings anymore, but I do like to draw cartoons once in a while.
Here is another one that is kind of different from what I normally do. When I first started drawing I drew by looking at a drawing book with pictures of what other people have drawn, which was kind of easier. This is an example of one. Now I like to draw from real pictures. (Sorry about it being sideways!) :)

Fail!!!

Here are some examples of failed drawings. :) The first one is of the marines planting the flag. If you are wondering about the drawn squares all over the page, it is an idea I got from other drawers to help with drawing the correct proportions. I was having trouble getting the layout right and as you can see, finally gave up.
This next one is another one I gave up on. I couldn't get the shading down. :) It is supposed to be Adrianne Peterson
As I stated in my Intro to Blog, I didn't start out drawing very well. This drawing (or scribbling) is one of my first ones I drew...

Drawing

This first sketch is an unfinished one that I started not too long ago and was too lazy to finish. It is of my sister and I when we were younger and I will probably finish it when I get more time. The purpose of posting this pic is to show how bad my drawings look at first...and even then, I don't know if this one will turn out or not. If it does, I will post the end result. :)
This is of Legolas from The Lord of the Rings. This is my most recent big project that I actually finished. :D

Doll House

Here are pictures of my dollhouse...the first one is the kitchen

Intro to Blog

Hi all! This is my first blog so I hope you enjoy it. I created it to post some of my projects in drawing and miniature doll housing. I will probably not be posting too much because I don't get around to it and I have school, but I hope to get a few things on.
First I will tell you a bit of back ground about how I became interested in these things. I have been drawing since I was little...and would be embarrassed to show some of the crazy drawings I did then, but when I first made them, I thought they were masterpieces! :) At first I mostly drew animals and thought drawing a person was a near impossible task but now I like to draw people.
As for miniature doll housing, my grandma got me hooked on it. I got my first doll house in the summer of 2011 from my aunt who had picked it up at a garage sale. After a lot of tweaking, I got it to look presentable and then bought furniture and things from a catalog. My grandma has over 6 doll houses set up with landscapes and everything which I haven't quite gotten to but hope to do so in the future.

The purpose of this blog is to give others ideas and inspire them to pursue their talents.
